Who wants free pie?

Pubs are one of my absolute favorite things about England. It’s one of those places where everyone always has a good time. Especially for people like me who don’t enjoy going out to clubs that much, pubs are the perfect combination of great atmosphere at an affordable price.

And good food. Because we all know that there’s nothing like pub food. Even my colleagues, who are all obsessed with trying out new fancy restaurants and cool bars, will never say no to a meal at their local one.

You can imagine then what my answer was when the team behind The Hope Pub in Fitzrovia asked me if I wanted to try their new only-pie menu after teaming up with Pieminister. Uhm, of course?

The Hope is a proper London independent pub that has been up and running for over 200 years, which is a bloody long time, so you can imagine they’re good at what they do! But just like every thing else, they accommodate to customers as years go by, and a few things have changed – only slightly – in the past few months. They have completely refurbished the whole place but kept the essence of a good ole pub, just like it should be!

On top of this, Kim – the manager – explained to us that when they refurbished the place, they also accommodated the kitchen to suit their new partnership with Pieminister, thanks to which they had decided to completely get rid of their old menu and focus only on serving amazing pies! They make an order to their headquarters at Bristol every evening to ensure that fresh pies are delivered on the next day. Yum.

Pieminister pies are everything you would expect from a pie: crispy in the outside but soft and creamy on the inside with a warm and tasty filling and all drizzled (more like showered) in rich gravy. Yes yes yes. Oh, and besides being delicious, they’re all made using only free range meats.

In case you’re wondering, I decided to go for the Moodog pie and Simon opted for the Moo & Blue. I didn’t get to try Simon’s but he basically said he should’ve asked for two pies and one side instead. Or order another pie with two sides.

The best thing about all of this is that, to celebrate their launch, you can get your hands on 100 free pies, and who doesn’t love free food?

To be one of the lucky draw-winners, The Hope’s team has made it super simple and all you have to do is click the link here and enter your name and email. If you win, you’ll get a voucher that you can claim between 12 and 2pm until the end of the week, so hurry up! I might’ve entered just a few minutes after chowing down on the pie…

Disclaimer: I was invited to The Hope pub to try out their lovely pies for free. Although, I only post about places that I genuinely like on this blog (unless stated otherwise!) so rest assured that all comments remain completely honest and my own. Any treatment I receive may not be reflective of the experience of the average diner.
