Guess who’s writing again? Yup you’ve guess it! Ever since I came back from my trip to Barcelona I had just focus all my energy in getting back into the routine of working and getting up freaking early to go to the gym. Yes, my alarm goes off at 5:55am so I can squeeze in a workout before I go sit in an office all day, not fun.
But after two weeks of not writing it was about time I sat down, removed the dust from my laptops’ keyboard which I had only been using to watch Narcos, and finally shared what I’ve been up to lately.
As you probably know already if you follow me on Instagram, I recently spent a few days in Barcelona with some childhood friends. I can’t stress how much I love going to Barcelona, it’s as close as it gets to being back home, which was much needed as I haven’t been there since Christmas. Because I’ve been there a gazillion times already, I don’t really do any of the touristy stuff anymore but instead just chill with friends, walk around and eat. A lot. Too much.
Therefore, in this post I just wanted to share three places I went to in Barcelona that I really liked and highly recommend if you’re there.
Pepa Tomate is a very safe choice if what you’re looking for is nice Spanish food at a decent price. Although it’s not a proper, old school ‘tapas’ restaurant, and the portions are slightly smaller, the food was delicious and the menu features every dish you would expect to eat in Spain.
Although nothing to do with Spanish cuisine, UGOT deserves to be mentioned in this short list, simply because it had the BEST carrot cake I’ve had my whole life. Seriously, you have to go.
Petritxol’s are one of the main reasons why I keep going to Barcelona. They’re a cookie-like ball filled with spread – this can be anything from chocolate to coffee or marzipan – dipped in white, milk or dark chocolate. They’re big and not too sweet so you can easily eat the whole thing without feeling sick. I just love them too much. I brought back with me two of them so the girls at work could try them and they were gone in less than a day, so I can’t be the only one that thinks they’re delicious!
