Chickpeas are amazing. You can make so many good things with them: hummus, falafel, “rancho” (if you know what this is, you’re awesome), salads, soups, veggie burgers (you get the gist). I personally love them, they’re good and cheap, although as my mom says; you shouldn’t eat them if you’re going to be out of the house a few hours later, if you know what I mean…
Falafel is probably one of my favorite ways to eat them, although I feel like it’s hard to find ones that are not a bit dry. So when discovered how juicy they were at Pilpel in Spitalfields Market (Shoreditch), I was pretty pleased – also based on how much you get for what you pay.
I feel like this place is totally underrated – before I actually ate there I had never heard about it, never seen them on social media, and also the queue was tiny compared to stalls nearby. It might have also been due to how fast the staff was. I had never seen someone put a plate together that fast in my life. By the time I finished saying the word “falafel”, my container was ready and they were waiting for me to pay.
For some weird reason, I wasn’t allowed to take pictures of the stall and the menu; so if you want to see what the prices are and what else they have to offer you will have to go check it out for yourself!
